Access for All

Your family may qualify for free or reduced price meals.

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!

Reminder: Applications Required
Milford Schools offers both breakfast and lunch to students.

Parents, guardians and caregivers will be able to complete these forms beginning August 1 using QuikApps as part of the PaySchools parent portal.

Parents may apply for Free/Reduced meals (or re-apply if their economic situation changes) at any time throughout the school year at Payschoolscentral.com, or you can obtain a paper application from your child’s school. Please keep in mind that any charges that occur prior to the approval of an application will be the responsibility of the parent to pay.

Families are required to complete and submit a current school year free/reduced meal application if they would like to see if their students qualify based on income or category eligibility. The first 30 days of the school year will carry over the meal status from 24-25 school year. School meals are offered to all students, unless you mark restrictions in the parent portal of your payschools’ account. Any negative balances accrued are the responsibility of the parent to pay during that school year.

Please remember to mark the fee waiver portion of the application or return your Direct Certification paper filled out!!!! ****Please apply quickly as approved applications cannot be backdated to cover charges made prior to the approval.

**Continuing this year…The Ohio Budget Bill will fully subsidize meals for students who qualify as “reduced” but not “free”. This means that a student’s breakfast (if applicable) and lunch will be provided at no cost. Please note that if a child requests a second meal, it will not be covered as part of the program.  Qualifying for reduced meals does not automatically qualify your child for waived fees.

1. Students must take 1/2 cup of fruit and/or vegetable to count as a meal.  If a student does not take a ‘meal’ with the required fruit/veg component, they are subject to be charged an extra entree + a milk (if milk is taken).  This combination is the same price as a full meal.  Those on free or reduced pricing will charged if the student refuses to take the required component of 1/2 cup of fruit or vegetable.

2. The five meal components are:

  • Meat/Meat Alternative: Minimum of 1 oz. serving grades K-8 daily; 9 weekly. Minimum 2 oz. serving grades 9-12 daily; 10 weekly. Meat/Meat alternates consist of: lean meat, cheese, eggs, beans, yogurt, No Nut butter or seeds.

  • Grains/Breads: Minimum 1 serving (1 oz. equivalent) daily with minimum 8 weekly for grades K-8; Minimum 2 servings (1 oz. equivalent) daily with a minimum of 10 weekly for grades 9-12.

  • Fruits: Minimum ½ cup for grades K-8 daily; 1 cup for grades 9-12 daily.

  • Vegetables: Minimum 3/4 cup for grades K-8 daily; 1 cup for grades 9-12 daily. All grades require selections from five different subgroups (dark-green leafy, red/orange, beans/legumes, starchy, other) to meet this component.

  • Fluid Milk: Minimum 8 oz. for grades K-12 daily.

3. We implement a program called “Offer versus Serve” in all of our lunchrooms. This initiative aims to reduce food waste by giving children the choice to select three out of the five meal components available at lunch. While students have this flexibility, we encourage them to choose all five components for a more balanced and nutritious meal.

If you have questions with the process or application, please contact Kim Gregory in Nutrition Services at 513-576-4160.
